Visit the Trevi… For the Lovers’ Fountain
Okay, confession time: when Gary and I were planning our trip to Rome, the Trevi Fountain was almost a hard pass. I know, I know… blasphemy. But hear me out. It’s so crowded, a little chaotic, and you even have to pay a couple euros just to get down by the water to toss a coin… all for a moment that, if I’m being honest, can feel a little cliché.
But, then I heard about a hidden gem tucked inside of the Trevi Fountain area called the Lover’s Fountain and suddenly, I was back in.
Off to the right of the main fountain, there’s a small spout that most people walk right past. It’s easy to miss if you’re caught up in the crowds, but it has its own little legend: if two people drink from it together and seal it with a kiss, their love will last forever.
And to be honest, that’s the type of romantic stuff we find irresistible! So Gary and I went. We tossed a coin in the Trevi, took our photo in front of it and then made our way over to the Lover’s Fountain.
We drank from it together, sealed it with a kiss - and just like that, we’re set for forever!
10/10 for romance in Rome.
If you go, take a minute to look for the Lover’s Fountain - it’s easy to miss, but completely worth it.
