The Colosseum Arena + Underground Tour… my honest take
Thinking about a Colosseum tour? Here’s my honest take… what it’s actually like, whether underground access is worth it, and the moments that genuinely caught me off guard.
Chariot Tracks, Fast Food, and Frescoes - Pompeii Is Not What You Expect
I've wanted to see Pompeii since I was a kid reading about it in a textbook. A city just... frozen in time. So when it was only 90 minutes from Rome, it was never a question. What I didn't expect? Chariot tracks still carved into the streets. Eighty street food stands. Entire houses with frescoes still on the walls. Pompeii is not what you think it is… it’s so much better.
Rome by Vespa Sidecar: The Most Fun You'll Have in the Eternal City
Cobblestone streets, 12 iconic landmarks, and one very cool yellow sidecar. Here's why the Vespa sidecar tour was the single best thing we did in Rome. 🛵
The Pantheon Was Not Supposed to Be This Good
I went into the Pantheon thinking, “cool, quick stop, check the box.” And then I walked inside, looked up, and immediately forgot whatever else we had planned that day.
Okay So the Vatican Is A Lot (But Here's Why You Should Go Anyway)
Okay so the Vatican is a lot. Like, a lot a lot. And I have thoughts - honest ones. Here's my real take plus the tips that'll actually save your visit.
Cats Living on Ancient Roman Ruins and It’s So Darn Cute!
Awww, just look at them… dozens of cats sprawled across 2,000-year-old Roman ruins, completely unbothered, soaking up the sun like they've got nowhere to be. This is Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary, and it might just be the most unexpectedly adorable spot in all of Rome. Oh, and casual detail, it's also where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Only in Rome!
We Almost Skipped the World's Oldest Museum (Don't Make Our Mistake)
We were honestly a little museum'd out when the Capitoline Museums came up, but then our tour guide mentioned it was the world's oldest public museum, and that the ramp leading up to it was designed by Michelangelo. One hour later, it was one of the best things we did in all of Rome.
Why the Baths of Caracalla Need to Be on Your Rome List
You've done the Colosseum. You've done the Vatican. Now do yourself a favor and do the one that feels like it's all yours. 🥹
